Studies (2014-17) based in General Practice Training Queensland and Tropical Medical Training. GP Synergy Research & Evaluation Unit members Professor Parker Magin and Ms Amanda Tapley collaborated with teams from General Practice Training Queensland, the former Tropical Medical Training and the University of Tasmania in these two projects. Project leads on the two studies have been Dr Rebecca Stewart and Dr Graham Emblen (General Practice Training Queensland), respectively.
The two studies used similar retrospective cohort study designs utilizing routinely collected data to establish predictors of registrars needing formal remediation (HELP) and predictors of RACGP examination performance (HELPER). The HELPER findings are currently being written up.
